On

Systems (CNS) and the Computer Network Administration (CNA) Associate of
Applied Science Degree Programs gathered in Lab three to participate in
the ITT Quarterly Hands On Exercise Known as “Enterprise Network From
The Ground Up”.
During
the All-Day Exercise, Students from all Quarters combined their
collective skills to build a 5-Site Wide Area Network, complete with
Microsoft Server 2008 Active Directory, Web Services (IIS and Apache),
FTP Services, Database Services, OSPF Routing, Virtual LANs, Windows 7
Desktops, Windows 2008 Servers, a Fedora 15 Linux Server, and
full-fledged Internet Access, from a spool of cable, 20+ Blank Hard
Drives, 5 Blank CISCO 2600 Series Routers, and a Blank CISCO 2950
24-Port Switch.
Students
gained valuable experience in Teamwork and Collaboration, not to
mention getting an unparalleled opportunity to practice the hands-on
