AITP's Holiday Party at Dave and Busters was a success!!
Thanks to AITP omaha and all of the sponsors for holding this months meeting/party at Dave and Busters. There was a short presentation by Jeff Slobotski. Jeff Slobotski is the Co-Founder and Chief Community Builder at Silicon Prairie News, an Omaha-based organization dedicated to highlighting and supporting entrepreneurs and creatives.
He is also the Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the AIM Institute where he focuses on creating and developing partnerships between business leaders and entrepreneurs in Nebraska, as well as providing resources and knowledge to the organization's members around the new and innovative ways of sharing information.
In his role with these two organizations, he is in a perfect position to observe all that is going on in I.T. in Omaha and the surrounding region. Jeff will be covering Silicon Prairie News and AIM Institute technology community developments and what’s happening, as well as where things are headed in 2011.
AITP students want to say thanks again to AITP Omaha for the invite.

Minutes for 11-20-10
AITP MINUTES FOR 11-20-10
Thank you all who attended the Meeting on 11-20-10.
We discussed and learned about CompTIA and other testing options.
The Test we focused on was the Security+ Test.
Our First foray into the security test was focused on security concepts.
Some Web sites to get test prep software:
www.comptia.org – Official website for CompTIA certifications
www.selftestsoftware.com –comprehensive test prep
www.measureup.com – test prep
www.preplogic.com -videos and test prep
www.appdev.com – more towards programming and database
Words of Wisdom
If you take the CompTIA A+, Network+, Security + tests before Dec. 31, 2010 the certifications will never expire.
When using the CompTIA website, be aware of the exam codes for each test.
